What happened in Berlin was a tradegy but like a german soldier said while visiting his family: "If the Soviets do but half of what we have done to them no one will be left alive". Wehrmacht soldiers where issued condoms on the eastern front and it was indeed needed since they raped their way through Poland and the USSR. That the Red Army retaliated in the same manner when they later invaded Germany is ofcourse tragic but considering the circumstances not that strange.
