The YF-19 is one of two series of fighters the transforms with the cockpit upwards instead of the classic downwards(The other is the VF-19). For any VF exept the VA-3 and VB-6, you have to be trained to quick swings and quick tranformation.

The VF-14 also hinges it's cockpit upwards. It mounts to the back of the fighter in Battroid mode.

That's true about the VF-25 and VF-27. I haven't paid as much attention to these newest VF's until just recently.
