A Socio-Psychological Study: Part 9
The media influences millions of people, entire generations and societies, often from birth. Messages sink into our minds and when they are repeated systematically, can have a massive impact on our beliefs, behavior and lives. We need to make sure we are conscious of what ideas are slipping into our subconscious minds and make sure that any messages we ourselves spread (be it through music or videos etc.) don't repeat the same racial patterns.
This video study looks at justifications given by people trying to justify the racial imaging of females in the media and shows these justifications are in fact based on false ideas, misconceptions and a lack of comprehensive understanding about the way the human mind works.

Are we all still traveling in horses and carts? Are we still buying slaves in the markets? No. Because things change. Things change by people changing things. By taking action. Change means challenging the status quo, change means looking for a better way of doing something and doing the right thing. Dont be scared of change and dont create reasons why you cant change. Take action and start to change for the better.

Most of the media workers are individuals, who are just copying the patterns set down by other people, and pouring out the same old messages again and again. Everyone who continues these ideas has a role to play in making the world a nicer place for all women and all people. Dont try to blame someone else, take responsibility.

What are the affects of this media over-representation?
A childs mind is like a sponge. It soaks up information from its world at a magnificent rate, far beyond the speed and ability of adults. Childhood is the most fundamental stage of learning, and the images children see can leave a very deep impression on their minds. The trend of showing the vast majority of female characters with blonde hair has deeply affected a lot of people in Western society today. Just look 20 - 40 years ago to see what you and I grew up with. Hair colour may have been a simplistic way to distinguish the male characters from the female characters, but just look what it is based on. Yes, some things are getting better, but others are getting worse. Its really important that we stop these twisted messages affecting the next generation, and we start to represent all people in society from now on.
Because Children are listening to the messages we tell them. Just look at this study.

No one has taught these children these ideas; they have learnt them from society. Its unfortunate that no study has been done of the opinions of white brunette girls about blonde hair. I seriously hope that after watching this video, someone who will research this subject in depth.
Non-blonde women have eyes, ears and brains. They are not machines who dont understand what these messages are saying. And this affects the way were treated, the way we treat other people, the way we view ourselves and others, the ideals we hold, the way we behave, the conversations we have and the way we react to and because of other people.
These constant racial and genetic rules are getting worse and worse, no one is allowed to look like themselves anymore, apart from white blonde women. Its twisting people and its twisting society and its got to stop.
