This is Marty Stuart and me playing "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" at a Dolly Parton IMAX movie shoot. You can hear Dolly in the background after we finish the song. The crew tried to get us to stop before it was over but we played it to the end. Marty has Clarence white's B Bender Telecaster and can play all his licks. He's really fun to jam with!

  • This is great stuff Rog! Clarence played with my dad a few times in the mid 60's (Forrest Lee) I'm such a bender nut, I started making my own. Any old footage you got. Please Please post it! I love all the versions of the Byrds. Forrest Lee Jr.

  • Marty get Roger to come on your show!!! maybe Chris Hillman too? lol

  • Roger McGuinn looks young for his age. He's about 25 years older than he appears.

  • I wonder if that's Lester Flatt's Martin that Marty is playing?

  • Roger must be tuned down 1 step.

  • How amazingly great is this! And how come these guys get to keep all their hair?

I am staring at my old D-28 in the corner - Bender time? maybe a G Bender?

Damn - it was the Byrds that got me started on guitar. Thanks for posting this gem!

  • People forget what a a great picker Marty is. I remember watching him burn up the mandolin with Lester Flatt a long time ago. I miss Earl's banjo in this song, though! Thanks, Roger.

    Jim

  • I'm not Marty and I'm not Clarence but I play a B Bender Tele, can do most Clarence Byrds solos, have home studio. If you want bender tracks added to anything, let me know. :)

  • Timeless music. Superb performers. Who can ask for more? Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

  • I've never ever seen a Martin guitar with a B-Bender in it! Too cool, Marty and Roger!
