The Sixbox is a derivative of the now famous Fredbox. It produces about 40mW of series modulated AM and is crystal controlled on TX and tunable super-regen RX. Using a small tuning capacitor it covers from about 49-54MHz although this can be adjusted to greater or less. Sensitivity is in the microvolt region. Super-regens are sensitive and simple , but the selectivity is not brilliant. The rig has produced quite a lot of local contacts with just a whip antenna or the V2000 vertical on the house. With a beam range should be quite respectable. The receiver could be used to check band activity although it will only envelope detect SSB signals. The design is described in more detail on my website www.g3xbm.co.uk

  • @fredbarer Scroll down to the site index and you will find it :)

  • Very sorry, but I did not see your reply and now I think you have removed it. I was wondering if there is a diagram for the TXTX that has a super-regen receiver in it. I am dead keen on doing a bit more with those receivers. I want to see how good MW sounds on them Bye for now.
