My Dad, Raymond Epler was one of Joe Plowman's pitcrew...i started going to meyerland in the 70's. I used to hang out at Joe's house as a kid...got mad when it was time to go home. My Dad also raced at Playland Park.

Not sure this is 1962, it more likely is 1967. My Uncle Bill Blumrick drove the black & white #7 modified car, Joe Plowman drove #28, and Charlie Schild drove #1. In the 1967 Labor Day 100 lap feature Bill led almost the whole race until Plowman passed him on about the 95th lap. After only one lap in the lead, Plowman's engine blew. Then Bill's lasted only 3 more laps. Charlie Schild was the winner.
Thanks for the post and the memories!
