  • @Radio2Folk - thanks for your appreciation.

  • I was so glad I got to attend one of his concerts, it will forever be in my heart as his music is. My two children grew up listening to the songs and now my two grandchildren do too! I hope he is at peace at last!

  • I've only recently realized just how powerful and genuine a recording artist John was. I've known about him of course for a long time, but never actually gotten into his music. More and more, I'm glad that I did. :D

  • Very beautiful song.

  • My sister just bought a new guitar so I said she should sell her old one and my mam on a whim said oh put old guitar on. I had never heard it, and now I think it's in my new favourites list!

  • @sholism

it should be pretty easy to hear its not that complicated of a song ^^ únless ofcourse you want it to be EXACTLY what he is playing. but pretty much just [D]D/C#]Hm]G]A] for the chords, there is some various in the chord-length, but not that much. Hope it helps :)

  • @mytokar - Thank you for letting me remember this old song and for your great video

  • He sang this song at the London Palladium some years ago I heard it on a vinyl LP and to me it sound the best He talked about writing the song and what it meant to him Great loss

  • This is one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar(1974). I began playing from a gift Gibson guitar at age 12 (1966). John Denver wrote this song about a 1910 Gibson "F-hole" acoustic jazz guitar his grandmother gave him when he was 12 years old. Now, 37 years later, I still play it and love it the same as always. Sadly, John Denver died on my daughters 8th birthday, Oct,12th, 1997. Ironic.

  • This is the best rendering of this song. Even Denver himself couldn't improve on it in his later performances of this song. I have heard many versions and renditions of this song, but nothing can top this one!
