This is the version of the Ave Maria that we sung when I was a member of the Schola Cantorum at St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA in the fall of 2007. I tried to set some images of Our Blessed Mother to make it an even more powerful experience. May God Bless You and Our Lady guide you!

  • tis true tis true what you say. part of the "haunting" feeling is the echo we naturally had in the Abbey where we sang, and part of it is a little post-recording editing that was done to tidy up the sound a bit.

  • gracias! :)

  • yes i did

  • yes, this is the all male choir (aka - Schola Cantorum) from St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA, Fall 2007 semester

  • a peace moment, a sacred moment

  • THIS SLOW VERSION 'AVE MARIA' OF RACHMANINOFF IS SO PERFECT.

IT SOUNDS VERY MYSTIC AND TRANSCENDENTALLY MYSTERIOUS.

    IT IS SLOW...

BUT INSTEAD, THE SLOWNESS GIVES SO MUCH POWERFUL VIBRANT INTO THE GREAT SILENCE OF THE TRUE DEVOTION TO MARIA!!!!

    AVE MARIA!

    AD JESUM PER MARIAM.

  • This version is quite interesting, different from the original version, which my choir once performed, but it has a haunting feeling, probably because of the recording and echo. The only thing that bothers me is that the climax around 2:30 is a bit quiet, if it were a bit more powerful, it would be absolutely lovely.

  • This wonderful rendition makes me feel the great power of music and art combining to intensify the mystery of life and a higher sense of being.

  • Très beau chant .je suis dans mon élément quand je crois etre du bon côté merci pour ce partage

    passez une bonne journée

  • Religious debate on this song is stupid. To say you can't enjoy this song because you don't believe in god is like saying a heterosexual female can't enjoy a love song written by a male about a female because that would make them gay. Enjoy it for the beauty, enjoy it for the love, for the feeling, for the inspiration. Your religions have nothing to do with this piece's beauty.

  • 2:32

Can someone, please, tell me the name of that painting?

    Thanks!

  • Богородице Дево. радуйся!!!!

  • I'm not christian. I'm not very religious in my own faith. I believe in a God but the majority of my views are deist (impersonal God). That being said, this song brings me to tears.

  • Oh man you succeeded! The selection of images of the Blessed Virgin and their pacing creates a moving experience. Currently this is my favourite Ave Maria recording and I'm a long time Rach. fan. I want a copy of this. I pray the Rosary every day and listen and view your upload right after I'm done.
