When Hyacinth arrives at neighborhood she acts like the queen. She is introduced to the "locals" and replies in an aristocratic way "How do you do". She never reaches the upper class, but for this short moment she is upper class. Brilliant scene.

@KathrynTheVampire08 Only Hyacinth is a Bucket, and that's through marriage. We don't know her name before marriage. But yes, we have Hyacinth, then Violet, then Daisy and then Rose.

Marriage is a fine institution designed to eradicate feelings like that ..... No truer words were EVER spoken!! Everyone I know that's married is VERY unhappy and wishes they never got married!!! Single life is the only way to go!!!

Poor Daisy. But one thing's for sure -- if Onslow wasn't so frigid, Rose couldn't live with them, the way she dresses.
