During the 96 games 11Alive's late news aired at midnight, this was the open for that newscast. If you're from Atlanta you'll no doubt hear the strains of WXIA's very popular Olympic promo, "The World Is Coming To Atlanta" in the music cut. They ran the heck out of that song for about 3 years.

  • What's with the bottom graphics lacking the "Alive" on the logo?

  • @tmisch64 They were coming off their "11 News" phase. They dropped the Alive out of the news for about a year - they were back to calling it 11Alive News by the Olympics but the graphics didn't catch up for a bit.

  • Was this a special cut of Speed of Life?

  • I think it was based on Speed of Life.

  • I LOVED this opening. I forgot about Angela Robinson though. I was working that night in that parking lot. lol There was so many people in Atlanta during the games. lol

  • Very hip and very cool for '96 graphics standards. And I like that they tailored this for midnight. And yes, I believe this was "The Speed Of Life", one of Gari's NBC affiliate collection packages.
