It's not that players don't use them anymore, it's that it's hard to find a situation where they're very useful, since you need 3 expansions or more and your opponent can't scout you or can't mass counter units in time.
For the resources you're probably better off making Dragoons, Zealots, Reavers, and HTs and pushing out, unless the map is extremely good for carriers (like Blue Storm or Monty Hall).

I think it's the maps that dictate whether people will use carriers. Like Monty Hall, Blue Storm and Katrina are all great for carriers... I suppose they realized this and now swung the other way making maps that are bad for carriers.

it seems like carriers have gone out'a style since Flash pwnage. we saw them nearly every tvp game last season, but hardly ever if any in the allstar skins games and none here either. i remember back in the day when it seemed like p>t>z, but now with carriers under control and defilers so well mastered it seems the other way around.
