Italian Flag Raising - Held at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack 9- 28-11

On September 28, 2011, the rain held off and One Bergen County Plaza played host to the raising of the Italian Flag at the Hackensack County Seat's Piazza.

County Employee Rocco Mazza served as the MC, while County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan addressed the crowd and spoke of her Italian roots and her Grandmother from Foggia. The Hon. Andrea Barbaria, Consul General of Italy, Newark and Ralph Contini,, the UNICO District VII Governor and Columbus Day Chairman, offered remarks. The Pascack Valley High School Chamber Choir of Hillsdale with Conductor Mrs. Argine Safari performed the national anthems. The Cosmos Club of Fair Lawn with Club Secretary Stuart Pace also received honors. The Hon. Jack Zisa, Co-Chair of the Columbus Day Parade, honored two Bergen County Residents for their service, Rutherford's Vincent Micco for his two-tours of military service and Sheriff Michael Saudino.
