  • Hello

What an amazing amount of work, enjoyed the video. You inspired me to get in gear and get my 73 44tt done. What did you do to improve the chain tensioner? My support broke in 1989 and it has been slowly coming together. I was wrestling with gel coat or paint? Did you get a lot of parts from Sportshop?

  • @vintagefan75 I used a chain tensioner from a 71 skidoo nordic i had laying around main axle and jack shaft bearings just copy the numbers on the sides and go to a bearing dealer got mine at advaned tech in saginaw mi. drive sprocets sliders boogies shocks i get from dennis kirk windsheilds from the sport shop tail lights jc whitney those are older jeep side marker lights also recreational leisure

Inc sold copany and chaned name still there dont know the new name.

  • @KraigBradley

Thanks for the info, I live in Northern British Columbia and so parts are hard to source. The main shaft gear was worn down too far so I took the shaft out, machined down the gear as they are welded on, is that stock? and then welded on a new gear after I machined out the center section of that gear to fit the portion I machined on the old shaft. make sense? Did you paint the white ones, or gel coat?

  • @vintagefan75 the welded gear is stock, I paint all my raiders , base coat clear coat gel coat is tuffer but prone to spider cracks, no matter which one you do you MUST sand out the spider cracks right donw to the fglass or they will transfer right throuh your new paint or gel coat

  • @vintagefan75 ps the guy from the sport shop passed away last month so i dont know whats going on with raider parts there

  • NICE WORK MAN!!! AWESOME!

  • I saw This At the show

  • Your Knight Raider is just too Cool! A very extreme quality rebuild. What ultra impresses me the most? Your not afraid to "Giv'r". I always say there is no glory for a vintage machine to be treated like it's made of egg shells. If a machine is so delicate that you don't dare demonstrate what the sales brochures boasted then it wasn't worthy of restoration. Great work all around, thank you for sharing.

  • @KraigBradley So sad to hear about the sport shop, he was a huge help for me, he had all sorts of parts, told me he purchased the remains of Leisure Ind, 7 semi trailer loads of parts. He had parts still in parts bins sorted by part number. I got so many parts I was not expecting to find.
