What tuning are you in? This would help my ear learn it quicker if I knew.
Thanks

I got a banjo for my 16th birthday, and, without realising it, started using the drop-thumb clawhammer. I already played guitar and mandolin, and it aint hard, but is if you want to learn how to play Scruggs style (I cannot do Scruggs style)

I've been trying to learn double-thumbing on and off for nearly nine months now. No matter how many explanatory videos I watched and how many performances I dissected frame-by-frame, I just couldn't get it. Then, yesterday evening, I watched this video and it clicked. Within an hour, I was beginning to really get it down. I attribute this success to one specific turn of phrase to which I will be forever grateful: "Boom-sha-ka-la-ka-la-ka.

this is really helpful, you've pretty much taught me everything I know on banjo (granted it isn't a whole lot). I'm much better at learning from your lessons than from the longer, more polished majority. Could you do a lesson for a clawhammer version of clinch mountain backstep? Love that tune
