The "Smart Escape Device" is a brand new Dutch invention for safely escaping out of high buildings (up to 1000 Meters!).
When your regular escape routes are blocked, you put on your "Safe Escape Device" vest, go to the nearest exit-location (for example; window) and jump. Regardless your weight you will be lowered to the ground with a safe constant velocity. The Smart Escape device works fully mechanical, is fire-proof, works up to 1000 Meters !!! and has approx. the size of a carton shoebox. This video (Dutch) demonstrates a working prototype.
