The story of 30-year companionship between a 40-year-old ox and an 80 years old man.
Neither time nor civilization can go against their companionship. (Korean with English subtitled Film)

80 years old, CHOI has an old ox that has worked for 30 years, and an ox aged almost 40. However, theres something special about the way Old CHOI treats this ox, which is so worn-out that it might be dead any minute. The old man is single-mindedly focused on the ox, instinct-ively turning to the beast when he hears the cowbell even though hes nearly deaf. One spring day, however, Old CHOI heard that his ox only has a year to live, which will make big troubles for him.

On Sept 4th, now is screening at the Theaters in AMC Mesquite 30(Mesquite, TX), AMC the Grand 24(Dallas, TX), AMC Grapevine Mills 30(Grapevine, TX), AMC Gulf Pointe 30 (Houston, TX), AMC Katy Mills 20 (Katy, TX), AMC Studio 30(Houston, TX), AMC Quail Springs Mall 24 (Oklahoma, OK), AMC Deer Valley 30(Phoenix, AZ), AMC Regency Square 24(Jacksonville, FL), AMC Veterans 24 (Tampa, FL), AMC Mall of Americas 14(Miami, FL), AMC Concord Mills 24(Concord, NC). • I want to believe the narrative, but this movie is a hoax. There are enough holes in logic to drive an ox-cart through. This couple is dirt-poor and old enough to have great grandchildren, but the family at the festival is relatively young, affluent and cruelly indifferent to their parents’ inhumane suffering. Cue the ox, that is near death, pulling said subsistence farm couple (living in the middle nowhere), multiple times into a major city for the man to get an MRI and other treatments.

  • The domestication of cattle is the second greatest human achievement to date, second only to the taming of fire. Getting the humble ox on our side allowed for agriculture, the cow for having more children, and the bull for disposing of a large source of protein. There is a reason why the first letter of the alphabet is alpha, aleph, apis, the ox. Beth is the house, gimel the camel. To the Phoenicians, the ox was more valuable than the house or the camel.

  • excuse me, Im in Vietnam. Can u please tell me how can I buy this movie?

  • I was lucky enough to get this movie w/ english Subtitles, it was an absolutely eye-opening, beautiful, sad, emotional documentary... You get a peek into the farmers lives as they continue to struggle in their daily lives with their "old world" farming, and the relationship they have with their 40 year old Ox, it moved me to tears because you can see how much they rely on the Ox, how much they love him, the Farmer even handed picks the Oxes food every day for fear the old ox would eat pesticides

  • cont... And the farmer’s wife keeps telling him, sell the ox, sell the ox.. because she is worried that as long as the ox is alive he will keep going to the fields and working with his ill health, so he brings the Ox the market and refuses to sell it for such a low price, and brings the Ox back home...The old Ox does finally pass away, but not before he has carried all of his beloved owners firewood to the house for the winter, he did is for so many years and knew when he was done.....I cried
