I totally agree. NightEndDay is so epic, so massive. Reminds me somewhat of early Soundgarden... without the vocals of course.

I'm really surprised at how good this sounds. Usually live stuff on YouTube like this sounds terrible.

i wish they'd go back to this kind of stuff rather than rubbish post-rock with thin, weak riffs. i love post rock, but pelican can't really do it.

Don't know if I'd say league of their own, there's plenty of awesome ambient doom/ post-metal bands out there. But Pelican are one of the best, definitely along side Isis, Neurosis, Cult of Luna. Theres so much good metal out there these days. The best part is, not a whole lot of people know about it
