These are empty seats during the the third game played at the New Yankees Stadium. The seats remained empty throughout the game. Time to re-evalulate your pricing model?

My Review. I visited the New Yankee Stadium on 4/18/09. This was the first Saturday game at the new stadium versus the Cleveland Indians. What a beautiful day for a game. However, it wasn't a great day for the Yankees as they gave up 14 runs in the second inning and lost 22-2.
Due to this, it gave me plenty of time to take in the Stadium without much concern for missing much of the game.

If nostalgia and authenticity of the original Yankee Stadium was the main concern in putting this stadium together, then it is everything you could want, only better. You still feel like you are in Yankee Stadium. Certainly great effort was put into giving you this feeling. From the all familiar facade, the blue seats, field dimensions and bleacher seats you will see a lot of reminders of Yankee past. However, as everyone is well aware, the seat prices are futuristic. The stadium was designed to allow you to see the subway going by in the outfield. This adds to that nostalgic atmosphere. The field is set so that the sun travels in the exact same direction as in the Yankees prior home.

In some ways though, it is too much like its predecessor. The new stadium allows you to travel around the whole stadium, unlike the original. You can now go behind the bleacher seats and continue all the way around. This is where you will really feel like you haven't left the old stadium. The corridor is very narrow and there is no view of the field from here. The same problems of the old stadium exist here. Very crowded and somewhat poorly designed. Was this intentional to give you the feel of the old concourse? Doubtful! It seems they sacrificed the outfield walkway in order to expand the Great Hall.

The Great Hall is exactly that. It is a wonderful addition to the stadium. Hanging banners of Yankee greats drape the walls. Pay attention to the opposite sides of those banners as one direction shows those players in black and white. The other direction shows players in color.
