So nice to know you are having the treatment by Dr. Ho. My mother's hairstylist Paul was not so lucky. I understand he was one of the first group of patients. He killed himself with a gun. And of course many others. The public was ignorant. And many died of shame of loneliness. Please do not feel guilty that you have survived. Please try anyway to feel good whenever you can. It is not your fault to get sick. It is a blessing that you are still here. Please take good care.

chiekom8. Your words are so humane! As someone on Dr David Ho's HAART (highly active anti-retroviral treatment) and doing brilliantly, I have moments of Survivor's Guilt.
It's no longer a 'death sentence' but a 'condition' easier to treat than diabetes or a heart problem (three pills a day, no more inconvenient than vitamins!)
It breaks my heart, chiekom8, to think of those who went before in pain, terror & loss of dignity - and had to be martyrs

Now the patients can take Dr. Ho's cocktail and arrest the disease. Too bad it was not available then, I am so sorry Mr. Hudson, you died too soon. RIP.
