artfuture catches up with Michael Brown, the creator of the highly visible LED light sculpture called Bluerain. Commissioned for the London School of Economics and due to be installed in July, more than 23,000 blue LEDs cover this 7'x28' installation. Light appears to flow down the wall, but what one sees are actually words flowing through each other at different rates. Maker Faire visitors were able to text and tweet messages that were then appeared in the flow.
Michael Brown is a sculptor, designer, and installation artist who has been creating artwork for more than 25 years. His unique interplay in the worlds of science, human interaction, and beauty has established him as a voice in the sometimes disparate worlds of public art, science/technical museums, and exhibition design.
