Um hate to burst ur bubble but you can tell if it is female by looking at the anal fin. Is it triangle? female. Is it short pointed and not a triangle. Male. hope that helps.

i need sum female platys :( wen i brought 2 platys got back i found out they were all males iv only got 1 black n white female platy shes not really intrested in mating atall with her mate i can tell shes female becuse of her underneath its not pointed its like a sort of roundiish shape more delicate not pointed at all shes defo a female :D she just has got no intrest in mating tho or intending to have any little bugars so i think maybe if i get more females the others might have a good time...

you could tell there gender by looking at the fin at the bottom the male has a pointy fin and a female does not is like a triangle shape you could trying looking at that

Yeah, I've come to that conclusion myself. I had both male and female of them, but I can't see the difference. Ad for the silver white ones, of all the fish in that movie, I only got one of them left in my tank ;-) They are called Puntius hexazona
