Poor and mediocre (jazz) piano playing. Some chords are plainly wrong, and Renee's impeccable intonation and phrasing makes the pianist sound like Carmen McRae accompanied by a gospel church choir pianist. At 3'09" the chords are truly wrong as well as the chords at 3'20" and next 3 or 4. She deserves (and has got it by now) a truly *jazz* good pianist behind her.

The "keyboard player" (that's a freaking grand piano people) is not drowning her out. She let's her volume fade away in a number of spots because she is not supporting her tone. When accompanied by a grand piano the singer better have the pipes to sing above the accompaniment. She needs to work on her vocal support and leave the showboating out until she has the basics. A pretty voice is not necessarily a good voice.

Poor david foster it must be said knowing Renee is sooo much more talented than you are. It must be the reason he is trying to drown her out. Renee looks like Megan Mullally a.k.a. Karen from Will and Grace with that hairdo.
