This video describes my idea for the firefox 4 homepage. This homepage concept holds sections, and a search or filter bar that searches everything in all sections, as well as a trends area, bookmarks box, and recently closed box. I've actually missed out more that I've wanted to say, but because of the 3 minute limitation I crammed as much as I could in. It's still 20 seconds over the time they said!

@tonysou803 Unfortunately it's only a concept, the Mozilla team and both voters didn't give it enough credit, so I lost the competition and they didn't put it into the final design of Firefox. I wish they did.

As someone who has used countless 'Speed Dial' variations and knockoffs, I can say this looks FANTASTIC both aesthetically and from a usability point of view. I'm not a fan of the search box ("Filter"), though.

Thanks I really do appreciate it. I've got to be honest with you, I wasn't too sure myself. I didn't want to scrap that idea over my own judgement though, as people might like it. I think I said it could be a normal search box in the video..

@samsonicfan ah sorry - I think the concept of the box would very useful, just the design and placement could use some work (but then again these pictures are very very rough and clearly not professional - which doesn't mean that the concept itself isn't great)

Very cool concept, shame firefox doesn't have a start/new-tab page like chrome does.

@lironcn86 Thank you veryy much! If only I knew somebody who could implement this as an HTML5-based add-on... too late as a concept anyway, they chose somebody else as best :(
