How to tie a lowering block to the tree eliminating slack. Less slack means lower forces generated on the rigging system.

  • Hey Ekka, long time no see. How long of a teather are you using on this demonstration?

  • Well you need to remember that you go around the stem twice so (3.1416*dia)*2+ extra to tie knots and tuck.

    So you need a fair bit, if the lowering point is say 200mm dia you'll need around 2m. I have a few to choose from but a large spliced eye on a dead end sling is the go. Large spliced eye so there's two parts of rope copping the load.
