I grew water melons last season...i did realize ants love water melon too or that cats enjoy shitting and pissing on my corn, it's okay because cats don't like water so i set up a motion sensor sprinkler :P

Jeez my watermelon plant's vines are only growing to about 15 in then they stop and more grow and then stop at about the same length. I don't know what's wrong with it. It looks healthy but not like this.

thats a water melon plant not a tomato one. it is supposed to spread on the floor and not on trellis, if it was a tomato then that would have been the right thing to do.

@B3rt1 thats true that watermelon plants spread on the ground but i have a 6 and 3 year old who are always riding their bikes in the back yard and i didnt want them to bu running over the vines. So thats why i decided to make a hoop house trellis for it and the watermelons grew perfectly fine. Also the vines were taking over the other plants i had next to them.

@marshallhenderson yeah it was growing everywhere and it has some little vines that grab on to the other plants so thats why a built the trellis for it.
