I was completely unaware that you could fire projectiles without the reaver and was stuck for ages in this battle, silly me..

@ZeoTheZombie Because Turel is taken by the Hylden back in time, in Defiance, to become Haskakgik, the evil sacrifice god beneath Avernus, of the cultists there, when Raziel meets Mortanius, and tells of the Heart of Darkness.

@ZeoTheZombie Originally, it was intended that killing Kain would gain Raziel the 'Shift at Will' ability (which would have worked as you'd imagine), and would move on to find / fight Turel in / around the industrial area producing the ash smokestacks you can see belching soot in the distance. It was instead decided that there was just too much game to fit into a single title, and the sequel was planned instead. Personally, I think they made the right choice.
