The Great Perth Hail Storm - 22/03/2010

I have never seen anything like this in my life. This storm smashed car windows all over the car park. It made hail stones the size of golf balls. Totally unbelievable.

This might not be as bad as Melbourne's Hail Storm afew weeks ago, but man, they have some competition.

This is the biggest storm to happen to Perth in over 10 years. Over 150,000 homes have gone without power, phone lines and internet.

Could this be a sign of the end of the world? Perth never gets hail this big. This was after the longest drought ever recorded for Perth. After about 4 months without rain, we get this storm. What a way to end a drought!

This was very early in the storm. It first struck at about 4pm while I was at work. Then at about 4:30 the hail started to come, in golf ball sizes. Then finally at about 5pm, the hail and the rain stopped, in which would only be the eye of the storm. This was when we decided to shut the shop quickly before it returned, and boy, it hit hard.

March 22nd 2010, a day that I will never forget.
