How do we manage after the death of a loved one?

How do we maintain a true and growing love when separation cannot be prevented?

How do we move—day to day, action to action, thought to thought—with a feeling of emptiness in our hearts?

Can we.

The feelings of loss and separation run deep: escaping earnestly from our hearts and seeping slowly into our blood, our bodies, and our brains until we know nothing else. It is our acceptance—our rejection—of this reality that assists in creating who we are.

This piece has evolved in a way that I could not have anticipated. It began as a video installation exploring the processes of leading and following; of longing to be followed, yet of moving forward independently. What has blossomed is my interpretation of a different longing: a longing to overcome personal loss, separation, or distance while the pain often seems overwhelming, irrepressible, and undeniably real.

I only ask you to experience, holding dear the truths of your heart.
