Chimpanzee populations throughout Africa differ in tool-using behavior, a likely example of animal culture. We exposed two Ugandan groups at Budongo and Kanyawara to an unfamiliar problem, honey trapped within a fallen log. We found that individuals relied on their cultural knowledge to solve this problem. The video shows how a Kanyawara chimpanzee manufactured a stick to access the honey.
