Good God, I'm glad to be back. After months of quibbling with Apple over fixing my broken laptop I'm back and foaming to get you guys some Cosmos goodness. You may've noticed some changes in the quality of the videos with part 1 of episode 3. I've much improved the quality of the videos. The resolution is now unscaled. I am using the original 720x480 dvd res. The pauses in the videos has been eliminated by increasing the bit rate.

Every I watch this series I can't help but appreciate being a human sentient in a universe such as ours. Carl had such a way with words.

The fact that science has to go up and down one moment probing common sence and the next adding many decible places of certainty means it really works it allows for a true tetration of knowledge. It is an expression of art to graft objects onto contellations but we shouldn't think they are actually there but people may be putting objects in the sky for thousands of years. We should be glad art comes so naturally to us that we have to control it anyway.

Ha! I like the Egyptians interpretation on The Big Dipper. I thought that character there looked more like a Sobek than a half hippo half man. The crocodile in his back could very well be Sobek's most loyal servant.

20th century constellations? He named some of the important inventions, even an instrument of destruction(the mushroom cloud of the atom bomb), but what about cars!?
