Scale-wheeled MTH C40-8W being tested at Angels Gate Hi-Railers in San Pedro, California. The unit is rated for 42" radius, but operates successfully on 36" radius (O-72) curve in hidden tunnel. Balance of this particular mainline is minimum 48" radius (O-96.) This particular locomotive is more forgiving of the uneven spots in the layout than my scale-wheeled SD70ACe because of the shorter length and slightly shorter truck wheelbase.

  • Do you have any funny videos of the kid talking the background?

I am glad that I already have the MTH PREMIER Santa Fe DASH 9.

I am hoping to get the Atlas O TrainMan Santa Fe DASH 8 when they arrive.

  • @AndrewNeilFalconer

Nope. Lucas is a serious train fan. There are about four kids 8 and under that get their parents to bring them by the layout and they operate better than most of us because they actually pay attention. One of them enjoys switching and is pretty good at it.

  • Fantastic engine! Love the trestle!

  • That's a great looking C40-8W!! I like that layout also! Keep the videos coming!

  • @AGHRMatt The one who is pretty good at switching has to be the subject of a future video.
