There are many dead shopping centers and commercial buildings that they do not want to you to see.
Ha, Ha...When economy goes bad, Humans tend to pray to God , get drunk and paint nails to forget about reality. Makes sense.

There are clearly some major economic issues here in LV - esp the incredibly high rate of unemployment - but I lived in the condos that appear on the left of the screen at the very start of the video (Park Avenue) just before and through the height of the building boom. This shopping center they're showing was always a ghost town, even at the economy's peak. While there is a lot of empty commercial space, this particular shopping center is not really a fair indicator of the state of things here.
