Hiroshima Peace Memorial Services, 8-6-08.
As we were walking into the Peace Memorial Park, a man stood weeping silently in front of the memorial to Dr. Marcel Junod of the IRC. Entering the plaza area at about 7:45 AM, thousands of people were in attendance. Ribbons of paper cranes adorned the various monuments throughout the park. In the sweltering mid-summer heat, one could only imagine the conditions of that most fateful day 63 years ago.
