This vintage 8mm film, produced by Walt Disney Productions, was used to promote the new Florida theme park. Many of Disney's extinct attractions are featured in this film such as, The Swan Boats, The Mickey Mouse Revue, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

  • @moveOnDotOrgg WDW CRUSHES Disneyland! And, WDW in still expanding. This is because Walt purchased so much more land in Florida than he did in California.I don't even understand how anyone who's been down to Florida's WDW can even argue this point .We have The Magic Kingdom, Epcot,Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and two Disney Water Parks. Not to mention ALL the Disney Resorts. There's just NOOOOOO comparison. sorry Disneyland, I love ya, but you lose this one!

  • It's so amazing how something we thought was so totally COOL looks so cheezy now =0) I am glad technology has changed. I saw some of the old prices listed. I didn't pay for it when I was a child, but I do remember having individual tickets for the rides. I didn't get to see alot of it cuz the tickets weren't for everything. I am sure glad they started the one price all ride system. Thank you for posting this nostalgic look at WDW.

  • We live 90 minutes south of WDW Orlando and go there often with the

grandkids. Its true Walt Disney learned from mistakes they made on

Disneyland so they bought more land and did better on WDW. We

miss the old rides, too, especially the Sky Lift. After everybody had

a fit they've finally put the Tiki Room 8:12 back to the original, (after

several years of being assaulted by the awful Gilbert Gottfried bird).

Walt's nephew Roy died so there's no connection with the Disney

    family anymore.

  • Anyone remember the "E Ticket" rides?

  • I'm not going to read all 200 plus comments to see what the fight is all about , DL vs WDW. I've never been to DL, not going to CA just for DL but I will go back to FL just for WDW. I'm sure DL is great, it is Disney, there is just so much more to do at WDW.

  • 5:13 - It's funny that I'd have the courage to ride something with the Big Bad Wolf, too!

  • I've been to disneyland andthought it was magical...I sooo want to go to disneyworld :)

  • People dressed nice because it was, and still is to some, a very magical special place to be. More like an Honor. Kinda like why you would dress up to go to church or a fancy dinner. Now days people be all wearin bib overhauls and spandex to walmart all the time like they just don't really care what they look like.

just for the record, WDW does in fact kick ass all over Dland. sorry, but it's like a whole different planet passed the gate.

  • The Mickey Mouse Review was great...I miss all the old stuff that was there.

  • I'm just amused at the sensibilities of people back then...many a lady dressed like they were going to church, the men not too far off...maybe it's because a film was being shot, but different times back then for sure.
