God I miss ol' ESPN without Disney, and Speedvision w/o NewsCorp too for that matter. Racing wasn't so "Balkanized" by the media back then, lots of cross-promotion by the networks. There was a pecking order but nothing like the situation existing today. I guess racing sponsorship has moved from the sideboards and fenders into the drivers seat...

Damn, that Ferrari has power. It can't do much with Weaver's car in the infield, but holy crapolley - it's smokes him down the straight like he was tied to a post. Ferrari a little too aggressive in this race with their power vs. Weaver's grip and excellent handling - how did they play out? Didn't see the race.

@ratzinator1 I don't have the finish because the VHS tape ran out but I believe one of the Dyson R&S Fords won. The Fords were really dialed back power-wise due to valve spring harmonic issues (bigger valves in a 2V head to deal with vs 4v Ferrari) in order to go the distance, otherwise the straightline speeds would have been closer.

I have been to this race every year since 1994, when I was two years old. My dad and I would root for the MOMO 333s every year, and we were so happy when Moretti finally won!

I love the Ferrari 333SP. That V12 was so sweat. Man if only Ferrari came back to LMP1 or LMP2...

Rumors about Ferrari back to Prototype are developing over the last couple years. Might happen maybe not in 2011 but could be in 2012 or 2013.
