Here's a quick video showing the meters in our meter box and the one on the right is moving backwards. We have 3 phase power, and as such 3 meters. The solar panels are connected to the meter on the right and the house uses the power from the solar panels first, and then pushes any excess power from the solar panels onto the grid. This is called net metering, when the excess power gets pushed onto the grid. Different parts of our home use power from the 3 meters. When the meter on the right is moving faster than the meters on the left, then we are generating more energy than we need, from the solar panels, and the excess is being fed back onto the grid. This is generally the case during the day, pushing excess power onto the grid. Then at night we would draw all the power from the grid, when the solar panels do not generate energy.

  • Good video......

    Solar Panels are too Expensive!

The only option you have is to Build Your own Solar Panels

If you want to know more just go to Google

    and search for ---

    "Top DIY Solar Panels"

  • Is there a disconect if the mains power is interuped ? so you dont feed power back to line workers that are working on wires wich can electrocute them

  • Misconceptions..... People there is no such thing as nuclear power, solar power, grid power, wind power, hydro power, coal power etc....

There is only AC and DC.

AC is DC and DC is AC.

Paying for electricity is the same as paying for the air you breathe. If you think breathing should cost money. You can pay me for it :)

  • It is difficult to explain to the non technical about export/import solar PV schemes. I just show them our $1200 cheque and that explains what they want to know. I expect you have your smart meters now looking at the post date.

One important thing every owner of a solar PV system should do, is record the inverter info as well as the smart meter info to make sure they are alerted if the system develops a fault or the panels become dirty.

  • I guess that the grid company would NOT allow you to push the whole energy from your PV to its grid FIRST and THEN buy it from her in a lower cost, right?!

  • How much money total do you make off it?

  • much better system for free lecky, cut off meter seals, take cover off meter & rotate numbers back by using a small screwdriver, all you need do is superglue meter seals back onto meter.... job done!

(Lecky companys NEVER take seals off meters, so will never know, be carefull to make sure bills are high enough to keep lecky company happy or they will know somfin is not right. benefits=your bills are ALLWAYS affordable, but you can use as much as you like!)

    Solar panels?....... fuck that!

  • @Serostern Home solar inverters have grid-health detection circuits in them. If there is any instability in the grid, or the grid goes out of spec, or fails, the inverters automatically shutdown and lock-out. They can only be restarted once they detect a stable, fully in-spec grid connection.

  • @theelitevenom No, not really, you don't need a large converter for that, you could easily fit one in a shoebox.

As for storing power you can do it in a lot of way, a big flywheel or even as compressed air.

  • @garrysmod102 It is easily solved with simple relay logic. When you get a zero from your income sensor it gives a one to the solar panel to mains contactor.
