people used to send me notices like that all the time. I never respond if i don't remember entering any contest on my own. even publisher's clearing house will send you a check but they make sure to add void to it. no one gives you something for nothing. if you don't remember entering a contest, it's not real. that happens to me right in america. but, you just have to be careful. i hope she recovers from the emotional damage.

Wow. The aftermath is hell to go through. Almost happened to me. Thank god I took the check to my bank and request for them to look at it for fraud.

I had a man that I knew give me 260,000$ in faked checks. He then asked me to send them out to pay my bills. I was in Switzerland and not a citizen. He rushed me also to cash them. I sent them privately to my bank in America and they informed me that they were useless checks. I could have been thrown in jail and deported. He then asked if he could deposit 100,000,000$ into my trust account in America and I could keep two million. I gave him the number of my banker, but nothing happened
