Just a video of my female keet, chirping. I needed to test out my new Camera and decided she didn't get enough screen time.

Her name is Obi and is almost two years old now. No, she isn't biting, yes she loves to sing and be held and long nails = fun time for her. She practically LIVES on seed, not because we don't feed her anything else, but because she REFUSES to eat anything other than bread, seeds, sometimes she will eat turkey but no fruits or veggies. No matter what we do, she just won't eat anything else. Since we found her 'in the wild' as it were - some one had let her go or she escaped - we have no idea how long she was without anything but seeds, or if the people who had her first only fed her seeds.

We think she was less than eight months old when we found her and she wasn't the only keet let out...Two months after we found her, we found another keet, male this time, but yellow and green, in the same spot we found her. He looked terrible and appeared to be looking for her. We did not keep him, we let another person who had some keets and knew what he needed to get him healthy, take him home.

We thought she was a he and thus named it Obi because IT loved Star Wars and that was what we were watching when we found her and she had started making a ruckus when Obi-Wan was on the screen. She even had the blue Cere that didn't change to light purple until she started laying eggs and the Cere, as you can see in the film, is still not brown like we expected. So until the eggs were laid (about two weeks after she was named) we thought her male, by then, it was too late to change it.

Obi is healthy and gets loads of attention and shares the house with two cats, a dog and a pigeon.

Around 24-26 seconds she makes the same sound as my Razor phone when you adjust the volume. She does it again later on too.

Obi-chan looks healthy and happy. She doesn't eat vegetables yet?

  • @kiki16sai

    Yes she is quite happy/healthy

My brother managed to get her to nibble on some Lettuce the other day (First vegetable ever! We are so proud!) She ate most of it. We hope she will try some other things soon.
