About the Film ---
How much do we really know about the food we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families?
In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, insecticide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of e coli--the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.
Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield Farm's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms' Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising -- and often shocking truths -- about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.

The worst part about this film is that the copy write owner has not allowed it to be viewed for free by the general public online. While exposing how dangerous our food supply has become as the result of money hungry people, you've also expose yourself as a hypocrite who's mind is diseased with enough greed to continue hoarding this film for more profit instead of making an effort to educate as many people as possible. This is a foundation for unity in this torn society.
This stuff is such a gimmick i go to school for food sciencei know how things are done and everything is out there for the consumer to see... they arent hiding anything. Try doing some research for once instead of believing everything the movies and news tells you... Think for yourself does it make sense for a company to produce food that its consumers arent going to want to eat? not at all.
@ twn5017: You go to school for food science? What year in school are you? What school do you attend? How are things done? I'm having trouble understanding what exactly you know. Try to put your self in someone else's shoes--someone who may not have the education that you have. There is a tremendous amount of misinformation in the grocery aisles and the majority of people buy into false advertising.
I am in the food industry and I think your ability to comprehend legislation, legal red tape, and manufacturing standards needs to be checked. I see nothing false about the movie. Nor do I see the food industry trying to make food people aren't going to eat. What I do see is the fact that most people don't know, and probably don't want to. But they should. That is all the movie is trying to say.
@twn5017 If you want to know what really happens, become a trucker and visit plants all over this nation from the back door as I have for 27 years. Having said that, I eat only locally grown produce, nuts, seeds and nothing from the middle aisles of any grocery store. Eat local, eat organic, eat it raw!

haha the truth is they torture my yummy meat.
We are all one.
What you don't see is a lot. Hope your vision gets clearer.
