If you dont mind my asking. how much did this trip cost?

@connor81296 - $3158.61 when I went four years ago! I actually kept track of my spending in USD. This trip was done "on the cheap". My flight from the US to australia was purchased using miles. I did have to buy a plane ticket from Sydney to Cairns. In Sydney and Cairns we mostly got around via foot, taxi and metro. Biggest ticket items were the flight to Cairns, the meals, and the lodging. In Sydney we stayed in a relatively cheap but nice hostel, which saved on the lodging costs.

@connor81296 - $473 for the lodging is what I recorded for the duration of my stay, which if I recall correctly was a full week, plus a $29.16 USD membership fee. I'm pretty sure the hostel was the the Youth Hostel Association, Sydney Central location.

@plavchan that you so much for answering me. can i ask one more thing? what was the hostle in sydney you stayed at called? my family and i are planning to go in june and we're doing as much research as we can.
