The top 3 cameras as of now are the Zi8, Vado, and Flip. I compared this camera to the Vado, and Flip (all of them). Features, picture quality, low light quality, and ease of file manipulation...Zi8 wins.

This is actually a good camera and the quality is amazing but the only beef i had is with my 16Gb SD card. The camera freezes everytime it starts up and i only think it happens when u put in a SD card higher than 4Gb

There seems to be commentary regarding the audio limits of the built-in mic. What would be a good 3.5mm mic to use for concert level audio recording to compliment the HD video?

yes there's a remote. you can find it in the kodak online store.

does it stand by itself if i put it sideways on the table ?
or do i need an tripod ?

@AltShiftSpam If you put it sideways then your video will be turned on it's side. Best to get a little tripod.

@KodakTube its okay if the video will be turned on its side, i can change it with after effects, but can it stand up by itself ?

@AltShiftSpam Ok - I just got one out and tried it and it will stand on its side fine... if you don't mind rotating the video in aftereffects.
