  • IMHO..If AA gets you and keeps you sober...GREAT. If you "get it" in Rational Recovery...GREAT. If you "get it" in Celebrate Recovery...GREAT. Do whichever ever one works for YOU. If watching baseball does it...then break out the TIVO! When you are working your program, whichever one it is, if it aint broke then don't fix it. If it IS broken...then do something ELSE. No matter what group you follow...make sure that you are actually DOING the program of choice, NOT just lip service! It wont work!

  • It works, if it gets worked.

  • Here is the thing. The disease of alcoholism is horrible. It is chronic, progressive, and fatal. Given that, of course any decent person favors any method that alleviates its symptoms. The enigmatic aspect of the disease is its profound spiritual component. If you like, call it an existential component. Such maladies resist medical treatment, to this day. So, any type of treatment that addresses the spiritual or existential malady works. Find one and work it if you are an alcoholic.

  • tommymurphy is drinkin haterade..

  • @gmcmudder1 To respect AA traditions he wont identify himself as a member of AA but he does identify himself as a recovering alcoholic in other videos.

  • @tommymurphy 67

I think I will just agree to disagree with you Tommy. You have your opinions and I have mine and I respect that.

  • @Torrepinos Fr Martin looks like a fat stupid douche to me. And he was brainwashed by TWO religions, Catholicism and AA. What a loser.

  • @kirst439 How exactly does it 'work'? How exactly does doing 12 cult practices and reading a rubbish book written by a deluded, brain-damaged wack-job (the so-called big book) cause people to stop drinking? I think that the causation works the other way, wanting to stop drinking causes people to go to AA, where they get brainwashed into believing that AA is keeping them sober, and that they will surely relapse if they ever dare to leave the AA cult.

  • @n8ivesoulja187 Oh you BELIEVE it is over 8 million, do you? On what evidence do you base this belief? The voices in your head?

  • AA is a dangerous cult for douchebags. They don't care whether you stop drinking or not. They just want to control your mind. Stay away. Going to AA is worse than doing nothing at all. And it is full of perverts hitting on any young woman who walks through the doors of a 'meeting'. Steer clear of these brainwashed losers!!

  • @gmcmudder1 ...to answer your question, I would have to explain it using the analogy: the Model T FORD paved the way for other manufacturers such as GMC--they would simply not exist if it were not for Ford's origins. i.e. just like AA's 12 commandments (aka 12 steps) --the only thing separating the two 'religions' are the 2 steps that AA added on to the original 10 commandments of the Catholic Church.
