The Tehachapi Layout on 11/2/08

Another day at the layout. I only filmed my train, though trust me, it was a busy day at the layout and there were probably ten trains at one point. This video shows my train led by my Atlas BNSF Dash 8-40BW as it makes its descent from Caliente to Bakersfield. The train is shown starting up from Caliente and at 00:40, the dynamic brakes are activated. The train descends through tunnel 1/2 and heads towards Ilmon. At 2:35, the dynamics shut off as the terrain levels out at Ilmon. The train gathers speed as it continues. Next, the train is seen arriving in Bakersfield Yard. The trains stops and the cars are uncoupled. The locomotives then pull forward and the crew gets into the locomotive facing the other way. The locomotives are seen departing Bakersfield. an your friends hands...that was funny. but it reminded me of time when MY friends did that on my layout in front of the train..it irratated me. thye actually derailed the train once by doing that.

Yes that is a Club Layout. It is run by the La Mesa Model Railroad Club at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum.

He didn't derail anything, he was just being funny.

thx, I try so hard and get nothing out of it. thx for not sayin anything about me in the vid. it would ruin my rep. (as if I had one.) Also, I wasn't hyper I was bored, there is a difference!!!! Are either of you running on tuesday? for some reason it is a student holiday. Happy Railfanning!

I don't know. They fun CTC on Tuesdays and I still need more experience on CTC. It's a Holiday because it's Veterans Day.

Thanks for showing some scale speed. So many layout clips show trains traveling at unrealistic speeds, like slot cars. This is VERY realistic.

Ah, so they do have working ditch lights. Awesome video! I just made a video with my BNSF Dash 8-40BW, it is DCC ready I just don't have a DCC layout to run it one.
