Marley, flat-coated retriever

Almost certain she's a border collie golden retriever mix. I've been researching genetics on my dog Bensen, who's her double. What I've discovered is that the black in border collies is dominant, as is the long hair. If she were a mix with a lab, she'd be short haired.

Also, into all this conjecture you have to figure the odds. There are a lot of labs, goldens, and borders out there, but not that many flat coats.

@Wodeshed Thanks for the info! She looks a bit different now and has so many physical qualities of an Irish Setter (not the color, of course) so it's hard to tell. I appreciate you sharing what you've found!

No truer words. We had a flat coat/Australian Shep mix who passed away in 2005 who loved to act just as goofy as a pup :)

Aww my flat coat is just the same, she loves attention and cry's if she doesn't get any, she is also really really mad, but the sweetest thing in the world!!!
