I'd be much happier if the fools who worked on this organ didn't replace the original console with a hideous electric one. Totally inappropriate. But the tonal resources of this organ is superb.

A wonderful demonstration of the tonal characteristics of this great symphonic organ. The improvisation brings us closer to the organ-builder's dream, a vision of vastness, glory and the fullness of expression that is the hallmark of the famed Cavaille-Coll masterpieces. This is a fine document which introduces the myriad array of sonic textures and instrumental flavors inherent in such splendid designs as this one. The art of improvisation lives in perfect conception through Frederic Blanc.

Je suis prêtre étudiant de Metz (57) à l'institut supérieur de musique liturgique à la catho de Paris, et je réside à l'abbaye bénédictine, rue de la source. Je ne me doutais pas d'un tel instrument dans cette église... Bravo

This is the first time I saw Mr.Blanc, and I'm very happy to have seen this video since I've been listing his CDs and I like his improvisations pretty much. He's very gifted. Thanks for putting up this video please put up some more of him.
