EDIT: A NOTE FROM ME (the poster of this vid) TO EVERYONE:
1st) The only way I know that you may currently obtain a copy of "The Promise" is by purchasing a copy of the Glen Rose, Tx. version in DVD format. This is thier site:
http://thepromiseglenrose.com/
(Disclaimer: this is a different version than the one I posted from. I have never seen this version. I cant garenty it's quality.)
2nd.) I am currently working on recording the entire play "The Promise" from my VHS to post it. Sadly, it may be poor quality, like the one posted here. I cannot seem to transfer it ont a DVD. Hopefully I will have some of it up soon, but you must forgive me, because RL gets in the way.
3rd.) Thank you everyone for your comments! I'm glad you like it, but it was not of my doing!! All credit to the amazing people that put this together.
Please, I beg you, forgive me for the ETRREMLY low quality of this vid. twas made by holding my digital camera about a foot away from the screen of my small tv with a headphone speaker held about an inch away from the camera's tiny mic.
This is a Easter scene from the musical "The Promise" as preformed in Branson, MO. (1996-2001(ish)).
If you're wondering: fist man scene is the Narrator, Gabriel is singing, I HOPE you know witch one is Jesus(if not message me, seriously), the red guy He casts away is Satan, those who come to Him are the dsciples and Mary and Martha, and the big guy who almost turns away(of shame) is Peter...
I really wanted to upload this for Easter, so, once again, forgive the quality, PLEASE. Perhaps I can get a better recording one of these days... (it's a VHS, so I can't rip it easily)
Have a wonderful Easter, everyone. The day to remember God's love and power. God is Good!!!
God bless, and bless God.
~Kel
LYRICS:
The clouds had not yet lifted,
The tomb was sealed and dark,
The cruel cross had crusified
The Hope of every heart.
The Son of God, the Lord of Light
By death had been destroyed.
And in the silence of the tomb
He heard His Father's voice.
"Arise, arise,
First Star of the Morning Sky
Come forth My Anointed One
Into eternal life.
Arise, arise,
Cast away death's dark disguise.
My glorious Son, Victorious One,
In majesty...
Arise!"
The earth began to tremble,
The ground began to quake,
The mighty stone that sealed the tomb
Of death began to shake.
Then suddently the darkness
Was shadowed by His light
As Jesus Christ the Son of God
Burst through the doors of life!
"Arise, arise,
First Star of the Morning Sky
Come forth My Anointed One
Into eternal life.
Arise arise,
Cast away death's dark disguise
My glorious Son, Victorious One,
In majesty...
Arise!
Come forth My Anointed One
Into eternal life.
Arise arise,
Cast away death's dark disguise
My glorious Son, Victorious One,
In majesty...
Arise!
Arise!
Arise!
Arise!"

Randy Brooks The original Jesus of the Promise
Hope somebody finds the original version of the Promise in 1989 with David L. Humphrey as the Grandfather.
By the way which Jesus was better Randy Brooks or Joel Lagrone?

FYI... My family and I saw the Glen Rose production on TV, and you know what.... there's not that many changes in the Branson production (well, the old version. I understand the new version isn't so hot.) I really want to go see the Glen Rose version at some point in the future. Oh, and the Brooks Brothers are still in the Branson area, I believe.
