@club4ghz Impossible. I have the 2.8Ghz X6 version (1055t) and by playing GTA IV it doesn't move over 25%, plus, runs EXTREMELY smooth, don't you be an asshole just because you paid 8 times the price as me and you didn't see it on performance cause the didn't give you REAL cores.. :)

Core i7: hardcore smooth gaming in most cpu intense games with no any prob.

Phenom X6: lags in gta 4 with with view distance and vechicle density on max and battlefield 3 online destruction lagfest

@WilliamJValentine If DX11 is essential to you then you'll be looking at close to double the price for a card which performs the same. In this case, I would recommend the 6770 or 6850.

@puertorricanstar Don't listen to these Intel fanboys, the Phenom II x6 is cheaper and outperforms the i5. To answer your question, an x6 anything is more than adequate to run any game that exists at max settings without a problem, but your video card should be your highest priority when considering a gaming rig. I would recommend the 4850 or 4870 which runs about $60 to get the performance you want. It's a little dated, but it performs on par with current gen high-end cards.
