Calabar, Nigeria. Sat in a car and managed this video of a few streets in Calabar, around Marian/State Housing/Highway axis, this is the part of Calabar where I grew up and I hadn't been back home for nearly 10 years. The video brings back memories of my childhood.

Music: Sinnerman by Nina Simone

  • I wonder why Nollywood film makers dont shoot their movies here in Calabar, instead of the filthy streets of Ijesha , Aguda and other dirty slums of surulere and Lagos, this is sheer bliss. welldone "Cali"

  • just heard a foreign correspondent in an interview with President Jonathan describe Calabar as the best city he has visited in the whole of Africa...he was right on there, And he asked why cant the rest of Nigeria be like that? the answer is simple, the Efiks, the Anangs and their cousins the Ibibios's are decent, law abiding , culturally savvy city dwellers who love their states and do the best to make it stay the best. Wonderful indeed...shame on the rest of Nigeria.

  • nice place, good work

  • @blamaco Man, u needed to see how much i prayed that Donald Duke would emerge the president of Nigeria in 2007 instead of the 2 STUPID successors we got. I bet Nigeria wouldnt have been down where it is now. I'm Igbo and I really dont care where any good leader comes from!!

  • @imejones tru that, I'm Ghanaian and this by far is the cleanest, friendliest city...CAAAAANAN CITY!!!

  • We lived down MCC...good video man, brought back memories

  • @jjmatashi didnt see one in this video, I wonder what you want us to go figure, dont even know how you came about your statistics.

  • I propose that from henceforth, all future Presidents should come from crossriver/akwa ibom, no arguments, there is no equivalent of such a clean and well planned city where Babangida comes from, where shagari comes from, where Obasanjo comes from, where Yar Adua comes from, or Gowon, or Abacha, or Buahari....we are still looking at Jonathan, but all others just occupied office for nothing, what a crying shame...Go Calabar go...!!

  • @ichatwitclinton The City is so clean...I am impressed. This is the first Nigerian city without any trash I have noticed. Keep up the good works!

  • Quite verdant and lush too. Calabar (and Uyo) are the way to go, as far as town planning goes.
