yeah, these are a load of tests I did quite a long time ago. I'll describe the effects in order. In the first four shots the spaceship is a few boxes stuck together painted silver I put on a blue jumper and put my hand in the back and flew it around. It is composited onto a film of a miniature landscape which had holes in it. We made some little explosions underneath it as you can see. Then composited behind that is a picture of space I got off google. The 5th shot is meant to be a black hole but is in fact a dish of suspended paint filmed from above (you can see the reflection of the tripod) and a 2D animation of a different ship composited on top. The 6th shot is a plasticine animated dragon who has firey breath composited in. The painted background was animated in the computer and the ship in this shot is only a stand-in and I drew and animated it on the computer as well. For number 7 we have an animated painted paper wheel composited into a flat painting, and last but not least, for number 8 actual footage of the sea is combined with another painting and another animated plasticine creature.

  • Just like the old days.

  • The beginning is cool. The rest, not so much. Keep at it though.
