2009 BMW 520d on Autobahn

BMW 520d accelerating against a much faster BMW 530d Touring (both are LCI) on the Dutch & German Autobahn. No need to say that I got my doors blown of.

NO RACING WHATSOEVER! YOU WILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE AGAINST 530D........ IT WILL LEAVE YOU STANADING WITH ITS INCREDIBLE AMOUNTS OF TORQUE.

Having said that, the 520d considering its size, its 0-60 mph is not bad in comparison to cars much smaller and lighter with similar engine

@19YY81 This is the problem with people, i study phyics, the weight has no influence whatsoever to the top speed, the weight only affects acceleration, the speed is conditioned by the air resistance and engine power, but you dont need 280bhp for 260kph, the Golf GTI does 250 with 210bhp, with 280bhp you will be doing at least 280-290kph, and if you have a very aerodynamic car probably hit even 300

@Saugnapf1 Naja, mann muss ja auch nicht unbedingt selber auf die Kosten achten müssen, kann ja auch ganz gut Firmenvorgabe sein. Und da die Kosten zwischen 520d und 530d insgesamt sich unterscheiden, kann ein 520d für ein attraktives Angebot darstellen.

Abgesehen davon sind die Preisunterschiede im Ausland durch z.B. Steuern noch viel erheblicher.

Und vor 10 Jahren hatte der 530d (vor-Facelift) auch 184ps, damals hat niemand geklagt das es zu wenig sind.

go to BMW centre and ask them to check your speedo, as there is NO WAY any car which weights above 2 tonnes and has so little of BHP would go that fast.... for 260 km/h you need at least 280 BHP... ;)
